Gaspee raiders can be divided into catagoriesThis "Raiders" division of www. Gaspee . Info is limited to the names and biographies of the men in the boats who in 1772 were in the raiding party that attacked, captured, and destroyed the English Navy ship Gaspee. For history and information of the raid itself, go to our attack history division.

We have ongoing research on each of the Raiders. You will find a biography for each man. The biographies are an ongoing project, inasmuch as many of the men who attacked the Gaspee were little known, and their identities were deliberately made secret for twenty years (until the Revolutionary War ended) for fear that English troops would kill them as traitors. Research continues to discover more about the Raiders.
